A Christmas party game idea that is relatively new, but "oh so hot!" is playing games based on the hit t.v. show "Minute to Win It."
On this show, contestants have to accomplish a crazy task within 60 seconds to win.
Here are some of my favorites...including a few original ideas...!
These games can be played by multiple people at the same time or as teams.
For all games you'll need a 60 second timer.
Marshmallow Stack
Supplies:
Marshmallows
The Game:
Stack as many marshmallows as possible within one minute.
Christmas Ball
Supplies:
One Ornament and one empty gift box per person, target area
The Game:
Move a tree ornament across the floor and into a target area by fanning it with an empty gift box within one minute.
Christmas Cliffhanger
Supplies:
Table, 10 Christmas Cards
The Game:
Set up 10 Christmas Cards so they are standing on a table. Try to blow them across the table and get one to hang over the edge of the table before a minute is up.
Our Favorite Challenge Christmas Party Game
Jingle Bells
Supplies:
11 Glasses of water and pencil per player
Game:
In 60 seconds, arrange 11 glasses of water so they play Jingle Bells when tapped.
Christmas Balance Game
Supplies:
10 ornaments, a yardstick and a wrapping paper tube per player
Game:
Hang 10 Christmas tree ornaments on a yardstick that sits on top of an upright wrapping paper tube
Whipped Cream Tree
Supplies:
Whipped Cream can and paper plate per player
Game:
Have players build a Christmas Tree shape out of whipped cream in one minute. Tallest wins.
Tree Kiss Game
Supplies:
Christmas Tree, 3 ornaments per player
In this Christmas party game, players transfer 3 Christmas ornaments from one side of the tree to another using only their lips within one minute.
Whipped Cream Tree
Supplies:
Marshmallows and paper plate per player
Game:
Have players build a Christmas Tree shape out of marshmallows in one minute. Tallest wins.
Tree Decorating Race
Supplies:
Christmas Tree, ornaments, one chopstick per player
Game:
Have players use a chopstick to pick up and place as many ornaments as they can on a tree in one minute.
Wreath Toss
Supplies:
Wreath per player, mini-marshmallows
Game:
Set the wreaths down flat and have players try to throw as many marshmallows as possible into the middle of the wreath in one minute.
Ornament Race
Supplies:
Ornament per player
Game:
Players race on hands and knees while pushing ornaments with their noses to the finish line.
Christmas Card Puzzle
Supplies:
Christmas card that has been cut into 16 even pieces per player
Game:
Assemble the Christmas card that has been cut into 16 even pieces within in minute.
Christmas Ornament Game
Supplies:
Bift wrapping tube, string and ornaments for each player
Game:
Contestants use empty gift-wrapping tubes to suck up ornaments and transfer them to each other and place them on hanging string.
Christmas Card and Balloon Game
Supplies:
1 Balloon per player, 10 Christmas cards per player, table
Game:
Players must continually blow up a balloon and expel the air from it to knock standing Christmas cards off of a table.
