This cake for the Halloween time of year is easy to make and so cute!
To make this Halloween "haunted house" cake, you'll need to...
Start with a cooled, rectangular shaped cake. Frost the cake with chocolate frosting. Make a path with orange icing and line it with candy corn or black and orange jelly beans. Line the bottom edge of the cake with candy corn. Insert Halloween themed cupcake "picks" as you wish. In the photo above ghosts, a witch, a spiderweb, pumpkins, etc. cupcake toppers were used too. Sprinkle with orange/black sprinkles. Decorate a Gingerbread House in a spooky way. Set the Gingerbread House on a block so that it is as high as the cake, with the path leading to it's front door. This is because the house is too heavy to sit on the cake. I used a small box, covered in paper.
If you don't want to bake your own, there are
pre-baked Halloween Ginger Bread Houses to decorate available online!
Another idea for a cute Halloween cake spooky scene is to use a
Haunted House cake pan
