Christy, my friend who made this cake, solved the mystery of how to put the birthday child's name on the cake. Cupcakes! This idea could work for any cake where there isn't room, or when writing on the cake would interfere with the design.
And I think the flowers at the bottom of the cake are a perfect touch ...don't you think?

My Hello Kitty Cake
My daughter loves cats and always has! For her first birthday we had a Hello Kitty party! This is the cake I made. I baked a sheet cake and then cut it into the shape I wanted, adding the iconic Hello Kitty look with icing.
